Who's Anshita?
Comedian
Anshita Koul (she/they) is a Berlin based, internationally touring and an independent polyglot comedian from India.
And is currently on tour with her debut English solo – Little Too Much (Audience Reviews Here). They have taken the show and parts of it to 34+ cities across Europe, UK and counting, including Free Fringe Edinburgh, Tallinn Fringe and the backyard of a rich Flemish man.
Anshita started her standup career on Indian reality TV show TLC presents Queens of Comedy 2017 and was most recently seen opening for Emmy Award winner comedian Vir Das on his European comedy tour Mindfool in October 2024.
They are a polyglot comedian with two comedy solo hours in Hindi, two solos in English and a Youtube channel with more than 50 comedy sketches in Kashmiri.
Producer
After building her material by travelling to different cities in Europe to access open mics, Anshita has finally stepped into the role of producing and curating lineups. She is the co-founder of Clit Comedy Club & Festrogen Comedy Festival Luxembourg. They also host & produce monthly in-person comedy & storytelling night called Comedy Bazaar held at Das Gift, First Friday of the month.
They are also the host of WORD ON THE STREET, a Queer comedy night every last Monday of the month at Tipsy Bear Berlin, showcasing all shades of funny from the Global South. Anshita was last seen on TLC Queens of Comedy 2017 & was the only comedian from Europe to make it to the Funny Women Stage Awards 2022 FINALS. In 2023, Anshita was invited to perform her solo show at Copenhagen Pride 23.
Writer
Anshita often writes comedy sketches for her social media verticals and teaches both an in-person and remote joke & creative writing workshops to aspiring comics, raging feminists and recovering people pleasers.
She also offers personal comedy coaching (Punch up scripts, brainstorm premises, workshopping an hour, confidence building, public speaking skills and much more) including but not limited to customised programs for special occasions.
